I was talking with a friend of mine last night, we were talking about ministry and the role someone was playing in ministry.
I am not currently working with anyone in ministry right now that I have heard say, “look what I did” as pertaining to ministry. I have though, I have heard someone say, “did you hear me say that? That was the hook I used…..” or something similar. It gave me a snapshot into their heart, looking back, I probably should have said something to them about it.
The premise of a filter is to seperate the potentially damaging particles from the used produce (ie, gas, water, air, oil). The oil filter protects the motor from contaminates that could cause damage to the particles. The oil filter also allows the flow of oil to much needed areas of the engine, the oil is the life blood of the engine.
In ministry, in life God uses filters.
The filter could be music, art, nature, a person, anyone or anything that God has created when it is used for His purpose.
God uses us (you and me) to speak to other people, using the talents He has given us.
God does not intend for us to cause others to sin, he does not want us to share our sin with others, he wants us to share Him with others. This is why it is important for us to live a life as if we are righteous, much like a filter. It is the way we share our love, that others will know that we are His disciples.
If God has created you for a purpose, let him use you as a filter.
