April has been an exciting month for our new church community. It was just a few short weeks ago that we gathered for our first Sunday. We have a seen an overwhelming response from the community. What is most exciting to me is that Restore has quickly become a home church to many people. People who haven’t been to church ever and others who haven’t been in a very long time have discovered restore. Many have found their way back to God and been awakened to a new vibrant faith. This became evident in late April when Restore held it’s first Baptism Celebration. After our Sunday morning service we gathered across the parking lot from the High School in the aquatic center. 11 people went public with their faith through the sacred act of baptism. There were some very special moments as each of their testimonies were read before they were baptized by small group leaders and others who have had the greatest impact on their lives. Story after story recounted how just a few short months earlier they never would even dream that they would be in a church, much less being baptized. It was some very special moments, the kind of moments that church planters only dream of. What made this celebration even more special is that nearly the entire congregation from the service stayed to celebrate. To me this speaks volumes. It tells me that to most of these people who have been journeying with us, they view restore as their home church.
The incredible thing is you have had a part in this moment! Your prayers and support have enabled us to be a part of moments like this and so many more moments in the future.
